"Through the grace of God and the generosity of our benefactors we have embarked on a long-needed renovation of our monastery! Now I ask for your help in putting the final touches on our project." - Abbot Marcus Voss, OSB

Over the decades, the Abbey renovated many of the buildings on campus. We built a gym, expanded the Grotto Gift Shop, improved the prep school dorms, and remodeled Boniface Hall Retreat Center, and the Heidrich Library. The one thing that remained until now?

The monastery.

Built in 1963, architects judged the frame of the monastery to be in good shape. However, the interior was another matter. Deteriorating heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical systems, and more have created unsafe and unhealthy living conditions for the monks.

One recent visitor to the cloister remarked, “Father, I can’t believe the monks are living in these conditions!”
